Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, repair welding procedures, non-destructive testing and recording of high-strength steel castings for submarines. This standard is applicable to the repair welding of 604, 607, 607A, QZ921 and QZ685 high-strength steel castings for submarines. Surface ships and ocean engineering can also refer to the repair welding of such high-strength steel castings.
