Scope

This standard specifies non-metallic filaments with a kinetic energy of 10 J or less, each used for mowing lawns by an operator in a standing position, with a rated voltage of 250 V or less for single-phase equipment and 480 V or less for other equipment. This clause specifies the safety of electric and hand-held lawn mowers and edge trimmers with line or freely rotating non-metallic cutter blades.
