Scope
This standard describes a procedure for the determination of formaldehyde (HcHo) and other carbonyl compounds (aldehydes and ketones) in air. Although this method is primarily specific to quantifying formaldehyde, with some modifications it can detect and quantify at least 13 other carbonyl compounds. This method is suitable for the determination of formaldehyde and other carbonyl compounds in the concentration range of approximately 1 μg/m~1 mg/m. With this sampling method, a time weight average value (TwrA) is obtained. This method is used to quantify formaldehyde in the air. Sampling for a long time [l~24 hours, when sampling at a low flow rate (e.g. 0.1 L/min)] or for a short time [less than 1 hour, when sampling at a high flow rate (e.g. 1 L/min)] Can be used for This standard describes sampling and analytical procedures for formaldehyde and other carbonyl compounds. In other words, a method is described in which the 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (DNPH)-coated cartridge is collected from the air and then quantified using a high-performance liquid chromatograph (HPLc) equipped with an ultraviolet absorption detector [1.3] ]. The method described here describes a method for sampling and analyzing formaldehyde in air using a sorbent cartridge and HPLC. This method can also be used to quantify other aldehydes and ketones collected from air. According to this standard, the following carbonyl compounds can be quantified.
