Scope

This standard specifies the extraction of creosote from creosote-preserved wood and wood products and the high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) determination of benzo[a]pyrene content in creosote. This standard is applicable to the extraction of creosote from creosote-preserved wood and wood products and the HPLC determination of benzo[a]pyrene in creosote. The lower limit of determination of benzo[a]pyrene content in creosote in this standard is 30 mg/kg.
