This standard specifies the design criteria for core fuel assemblies in the design of reactor systems for pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants. This section applies to the design of fuel assemblies for pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants using pickaxe alloy as packaging tubes, UO pellets and/or UO-GdO pellets or ZrB-coated UO pellets as fuel, and other cladding and fuel materials. Fuel assembly design can also be implemented as a reference.
