Scope
This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of ballasts for explosive gas environments (hereinafter referred to as ballasts). This standard applies to the design, manufacture and inspection of ballasts. The ballast is suitable for use in Class IIA, IIB, and IIC explosive gas environments of groups T1 to T4 as a supporting device for lighting fixtures (high-pressure mercury lamps, high-pressure sodium lamps, and metal halide lamps) in factories or factory areas.
