- Important note: The strong acid used in this standard is corrosive, and chloroform is irritating and toxic. It needs to be operated in a fume hood and precautions should be taken when using it. If splashed on body, rinse with plenty of water and avoid inhalation or skin contact. This standard specifies a method for the determination of mercaptobenzothiazole in industrial circulating cooling water using ultraviolet spectrophotometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of mercaptobenzothiazole in phosphorus-based circulating cooling water and phosphorus-based composite inhibitors. The measurement range is 0.2 mg/L ~ l mg/L.
