Scope: Warning—Ammonium nitrate is a strong oxidant and can fuel the fire when combustibles catch fire; it may react violently and explode when mixed with combustible powders, subject to strong vibrations, or rapid heating; it may react violently with reducing agents, organic matter, and flammable substances such as sulfur and phosphorus. Mixing with metal powder or other materials can form an explosive mixture; it is irritating to the respiratory tract, eyes and skin; it is recommended to wear a filter-type dust-proof respirator when there is possible contact with dust. Light diesel oil is flammable. Personnel using this standard should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. Users are responsible for taking appropriate safety and health measures and ensuring compliance with relevant national laws. This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules, labeling, packaging, transportation and storage of porous granular nitric acid. This standard applies to porous granular ammonium nitrate prepared by neutralizing ammonia and dilute nitric acid. Porous granular ammonium nitrate is mainly used in the explosives industry.
