Scope

This standard specifies a test method for measuring the vertical compressive strength (ring crush strength) of cut surfaces of paper and paperboard, particularly those used in the manufacture of corrugated cardboard and packaging boxes. This standard applies to paper and paperboard with a thickness of 580 μm or less.
