This standard specifies the microhardness test of the cross-section of welded joints of metal materials with large hardness gradient. The Vickers hardness test is carried out according to ISO 6507-1-2005, and the commonly used test force ranges from 0.98N to less than 49.03N (HV 0.1 to less than HV 5). Note: The hardness test should ensure that the maximum hardness and the minimum hardness of the weld metal and the base metal on both sides (the base metals on both sides are different metal materials) are measured. The test force used in the weld hardness test specified in this standard does not include the test force greater than or equal to 49.03N specified in ISO 9015-1. This standard does not apply to hardness tests on narrow weld specimens, such as laser welded and electron beam welded welds. This standard applies to the microhardness test of the cross-section of welded joints of metal materials.
