Scope

This document specifies methods for determining the density of bitumen and bituminous binders excluding emulsions. The pyknometer method is applicable to binders like bitumen and petroleum cut back bitumen. The method according to Maass can only be applied to bitumen. These methods are only restritively applicable to binders which contain fillers.
