The guideline covers the basics, design, construction and commissioning/acceptance of modular heat and power stations. For the purpose of the guideline modular heat and power stations are combined heat and power stations with internal combusion engines or gas turbines which generate electricity and useful thermal energy simultaneously. Heat pumps are not covered by this guideline.
