The present guideline applies to fork-lift trucks which are mounted to the rear, or bottom, of lorries or trailers, and taken along with these vehicles. The lorry or trailer mounted fork-lift truck is always arranged outside the loading surface, and is used for loading and unloading at the point of destination. Nominal carrying capacities range from 1000 kg to 4000 kg with lift heights up to 4000 mm. Control is manual (e.g. radio remote control), pedestrian- type, or from a driver?s seat; the drive is by electric motor or combustion engine. Various designs of lorry or trailer mounted fork-lift trucks are available.
