VDI 3957 Blatt 14-2005 Biological measuring techniques for the determination and evaluation of effects of air pollutants on plants (bioindication) - Phytotoxic effect of inorganic fluorides in ambient air - Method of standardised gladiolus exposure
The use of the Standardised Gladiolus Exposure aims at the recognition of visible leaf injury (necroses of leaf tips and leaf margins) due to fluoride air pollution in sensitive Gladiolus cultivars, the assessment of injury extent and the evaluation of the results as a basis for a risk assessment for the vegetation. This guideline standardises the individual procedural steps which, besides the ambient air concentration of fluorides, may affect the formation and development of leaf injury in sensitive Gladiolus (Gladiolus gandavensis) cultivars.
