Scope
The document describes the determination of visual range via backscattering lidar (Light detection and ranging). The guideline refers to guideline VDI 3786 Part 6 for the definition of visual range and to guideline VDI 3786 Part 1 in considerung the averaging time. Safety aspects are not dealt with reference is made here to the respective accident prevention regulations and standards.
