VDI 3481 Blatt 4-2007 Gaseous emission measurement - Measurement of the concentrations of total organic carbon and methane carbon using the flame ionisation detector (FID)
This guideline specifies an automatic measurement method for the simultaneous and continuous determination of the emissions of total gaseous organic carbon (TOC) and the methane fraction (methane-C) using flame ionisation detection (FID), the result being expressed as carbon mass concentration in mg/m3. The difference of both quantities provides additionally the quantity "non-methane total organic carbon (NMTOC)". The method is applicable in the concentration range from approx. 5 mg/m3 to approx. 5000 mg/m3.
