The document below deals with exhaust gas corrosion of metallic materials in hot water heating installations, directly heated water heating installations and the exhaust gas installations that accompany them. Its aim is to avoid component failure or minimise impaired operation. Unlike Parts 1 and 2, Part 3 also applies to hot water installations. The materials glass, porcelain, plastic and concrete, which are also used in exhaust gas installations are not covered. Corrosion in high temperature sections, such as oxidisation, are not the subject of the document.
