Scope

This specification specifies the detailed requirements for the design, processing, bonding of resistance strain gauges, inspection and calibration, delivery, use and maintenance of wind tunnel strain balances (hereinafter referred to as balances). This specification is applicable to rod-type strain balances for full-model aircraft wind tunnel dynamometric tests. Other force test strain balances can also be used as a reference.
