Scope: This standard specifies the samples, instruments and equipment, reagents, test procedures and test reports for the determination of the resin content of glass fiber reinforced plastics by the loss on ignition method. This standard applies to glass fiber reinforced plastics whose resin matrix can burn out. This standard does not apply to reinforced plastics containing mineral fillers that decompose at the lowest combustion temperature or are insoluble in hydrochloric acid.
