Scope

This standard is formulated in order to standardize the test methods for the basic mechanical properties of masonry and provide accurate and reliable test data for masonry structure research, design and construction quality inspection. This standard is applicable to the basic mechanical performance test and inspection of various types of masonry in masonry structural engineering. For the developed new block or masonry mortar, the basic mechanical performance test of masonry should also be carried out according to this standard. The block materials used in this standard masonry test piece are brick, block, aggregate stone and rubble. The mechanical properties of the block materials and masonry mortar shall be inspected according to the current relevant national standards. The test of the basic mechanical properties of masonry should not only comply with the provisions of this standard, but also meet the provisions of the relevant current national standards.
