Scope
This specification covers the requirements for the electrodeposition of tin-zinc plating on metal parts and the properties of the deposit. This plating has been used typically as a corrosion resistant plating where cadmium cannot be used, as a replacement for tin plating where tin whisker growth is a concern, a coating for fasteners where thread lubricity is desirable, and for parts which are to be joined using tin-lead solders, but usage is not limited to such applications.
