Scope

This standard specifies the detection methods for coliforms, fecal coliforms and Escherichia coli in imported and exported foods. In this standard, the MPN method is suitable for the detection of coliforms, fecal coliforms and Escherichia coli in imported and exported foods; the plate counting method is suitable for the detection of coliforms in imported and exported foods; the β-glucosidase fluorescence method is suitable for the detection of coliforms in imported and exported foods. Inspection of coliforms in exported food (excluding shellfish); the filter/MUG method is suitable for large intestine in imported and exported instant noodles, puffed food, mineral water, beverages, milk (requires protease treatment), single crystal sugar and peppercorns Testing of flora and E. coli.
