Scope
This standard specifies the method for the determination of silicon, manganese, phosphorus, chromium, nickel, copper, titanium, molybdenum, vanadium, tungsten and aluminum in stainless steel by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of silicon, manganese, phosphorus, chromium, nickel, copper, titanium, molybdenum, vanadium, tungsten and aluminum elements in chromium stainless steel, chromium-nickel stainless steel and chromium-manganese (manganese series) stainless steel. The aluminum and silicon specified in this standard are acid-soluble aluminum and acid-soluble silicon.
