Scope

This standard specifies the principles, terms and definitions of the instrumented test method for the Charpy V-notch pendulum impact test of steel, samples, test equipment and instruments, test procedures, test result evaluation and processing, and test reports. This standard applies to Charpy V-notch specimens of steel. After negotiation, this standard can also be used for testing other metal materials and U-notch specimens.
