- This standard specifies the method for the determination of nickel content in nickel-containing jewelry (including non-precious metal jewelry) by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. This standard is especially applicable to the determination of nickel in samples with a nickel content of 0.03% to 0.07% (see Note 3). This standard can be used to determine the content of nickel in the total mass of articles inserted into the ear or any other part of the human body, removed or retained during the healing of perforated wounds.
