Scope
This standard applies to the food additive lutein which is saponified, extracted and refined from marigold (Tagetes erecta L.) oleoresin. Commercialized lutein products may contain auxiliary materials such as edible vegetable oil, dextrin, and antioxidants for standardization purposes.
