Scope

This standard specifies an aggregate stability test method that applies the destructive action of sodium sulfate due to crystal pressure. However, artificial lightweight aggregates are excluded (). Note () Among the structural lightweight concrete aggregates listed in JIS A 5902, this standard is applicable to natural lightweight aggregates and by-product lightweight aggregates. NOTE: This test provides information for determining the stability of aggregates against weather effects.
