- This part of YY 0573 specifies disposable sterile disposables made of plastic materials, with or without needles, used to aspirate medicinal liquids or for injection immediately after infusion of medicinal liquids, and are designed to prevent reuse. Hypodermic syringe requirements. This section does not apply to glass syringes (specified in ISO 595), self-destructible fixed-dose vaccine syringes (YY 0573.3-2005) and syringes prefilled with medicinal solution. This section does not address the compatibility of syringes with injectable pharmaceutical solutions. When a syringe is used for a purpose beyond its intended use as specified in this section, other standards apply. Note: This section also applies to the reuse performance of syringes that prevent accidental needle stick injuries. However, it should be emphasized that this section does not cover the performance of this type of syringes that prevent accidental needle stick injuries.
