Scope

This standard specifies the principles, instruments, reagents, sample preparation, test procedures, calculations and test reports for determining the linear density of woven fabrics. This standard is applicable to the determination of linear density of cotton and polyester-cotton woven fabrics. This standard does not apply to knitted fabrics, pure fibers, and special fabrics finished by cutting velvet and other processes.
