Scope
This guidance technical document presents a basic approach, one that does not rely on standard luminaire light distribution and is not limited to conventional installations of luminaires. This method is called the "basic method" because it serves as the basis for the applied method. This method can be applied in the following fields: a) The indoor environment is a rectangular parallelepiped; b) The working surface can be assumed to be a plane of a certain material and considered as an inner surface of the house; c) The room surface is uniformly reflective and conforms to Lambert's law, the ceiling reflectance is R1, the frieze reflectance is R2 (defined as the part of the vertical surface between the ceiling and the lamp), and the wall reflectance is R3 (defined as the vertical surface between the lamp plane and the working surface ), R4 is the reflectance of the working surface; d) If the luminaires rotate around their vertical axis, the direct luminous flux of the working surface does not change significantly.
