Scope: This standard specifies the lighting requirements for indoor workplaces so that workers can perform visual operations comfortably, effectively and safely throughout the working period. This standard does not explain how the lighting system should be designed or what technology should be adopted to optimize the lighting scheme of a specific workplace. These can be found in relevant CIE guidelines and reports.
