- This standard gives the data protection requirements to promote the transnational transfer of personal health data. This standard applies to the international exchange of personal health data. The formulation and implementation of data protection principles by domestic organizations can be used as a reference. This standard sets out both the data protection principles applicable to international transfers and the security policies that organizations should adopt to ensure compliance with these principles. This standard will take precedence over multilateral agreements (such as the EU Data Protection Directive) that have been concluded between many countries. This standard is intended to facilitate the international application of the transfer of personal health data. And it is committed to providing some methods to ensure that the health data related to the data subject (such as patients) can be fully protected when it is sent to other countries and processed in other countries.
