- This specification is formulated in order to prevent and control indoor environmental pollution caused by building materials and decoration materials in civil construction projects, protect public health, maintain public interests, and achieve advanced technology and reasonable economy. This specification is applicable to the indoor environmental pollution control of newly-built, expanded and rebuilt civil construction projects, not applicable to industrial production construction projects, storage construction projects, buildings and indoor environmental pollution control with special purification and sanitation requirements, nor is it applicable to civil construction projects. After the construction project is delivered for use, the indoor environmental pollution caused by non-building decoration is controlled. The indoor environmental pollutants controlled by this standard include radon, formaldehyde ammonia, benzene and total volatile organic compounds. The building materials and decoration materials selected for civil construction projects must comply with the relevant provisions of this code.
