Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the method for determining the boiling range dis ribution of petroleum fractions. This standard applies to petroleum fractions with an initial boiling point higher than 174°C and a final boiling point lower than 700°C (C to C) under normal pressure. 1.2 This standard is not applicable to the determination of petroleum or petroleum products containing low molecular weight components (such as naphtha, reformed oil, gasoline, crude oil). Substances containing other heteroatom compounds (such as alcohols, ethers, acids or esters) or residual oil cannot be determined by this standard. For the determination of such substances, please refer to methods SH/T 0558, ASTM D3710 or ASTM D5307. Determination of substances containing a large amount of non-normal alkanes using this standard will produce deviations (see Appendix A). 1.3 This standard uses the International System of Units (SI) units. 1.4 This standard does not make recommendations on all safety is ues involved. Therefore, before using this standard, the user should establis appropriate safety and protective measures and determine the applicability of relevant regulatory limitations.
