Scope
1.1 This standard is applicable to the determination of the elements barium, boron, calcium, copper, magnesium, molybdenum, phosphorus, sulfur and zinc in unused lubricants and composite additives. 1.2 The precis on of this standard is applicable to samples diluted in solvents at a mass ratio of 1% to 5%. 1.3 The concentration range given in the precis on table is the concentration range of samples studied between laboratories. This standard also applies to samples with concentrations higher and lower than the concentration range given in the precis on table. The lower limit of the measurable concentration depends on the sensitivity of the instrument and the dilution factor of the sample, and the upper limit of the measurable concentration depends on the highest concentration of the calibration curve and the sample dilution factor. 1.4 Instruments capable of operating at a wavelength of 180 nm can measure sulfur content. 1.5 This standard uses [SI] International System of Units units. 1.6 The standard covers certain hazardous materials, operations and equipment, but does not make recommendations on all safety is ues related to them. Therefore, it is necessary for users to establis appropriate safety and protective measures and determine the corresponding management system before using this standard.
