The ITU Radiocommunication Assembly considering that the exchange of sound programmes on recordable compact discs (CD-R) is becoming common practice; that CD-R equipment is widely available and at low cost; that the compatibility with existing CD players must be guaranteed; that the alignment levels should be compatible with that of commercial CDs; that alignment tones are a very useful means for equipment set up.
