Scope

This standard specifies the use of small-sized steam steam to sterilize medical equipment (objects to be sterilized) using saturated steam (generated directly from water in a chamber, from an integrated steam generator, or by using an external steam generation source). This standard specifies the basic requirements regarding safety, performance, testing, and labeling of sterilizers.
