Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of mechanical impurities in petroleum and petroleum products and additives by using quantitative filter paper or microporous glass filter samples with constant weight. This standard applies to the determination of mechanical impurities in petroleum, liquid petroleum products and additives. This standard does not apply to lubricating oil and asphalt.
