- This standard specifies the method for measuring the radius variation and the general characteristics of the instrument for evaluating the roundness error with a contact (stylus) instrument. This standard is applicable to evaluate the roundness error of the part contour with any of the following centers after contour conversion under given conditions. ——the center of the smallest area circle; ——the center of the least square circle; ——the center of the smallest circumscribed circle; ——the center of the largest inscribed circle.
