The method established by this standard is used for the determination of the crystallisation point according to DIN 51633. For this purpose the benzene sample, saturated with water is cooled in a cooling bath until crystals of benzene are formed. Subsequently a temperature increase can be observed. The constant temperature at which the bath stabilizies is measured and considered to be the crystallization point of the pure benzene tested.
