Scope

This standard specifies the ultrasonic testing methods, defect assessment and performance requirements for testing equipment in the threaded area of drill string components. This standard is suitable for inspecting crack-type defects in the thread area where the thickness of the outer end of the thread of drill string components in service is greater than 8mm.
