This Recommendation describes the general framework for ASON management, defines the position of ASON management in the TMN context, and specifies how TMN principles can be applied. Additionally, the ASON control plane is described from a management perspective, providing the basis for the ASON management requirements specified in this Recommendation. Additionally, the identifier spaces required for ASON management are specified. Examples of management system structures and management applications related to ASON are included in the appendices.
