Scope
This standard specifies a general method for converting nitrogen in organic compounds into ammonia, absorbing the distilled ammonia with boric acid solution, and determining nitrogen content by acid-base titration. This standard applies to the determination of constant nitrogen in organic reagents. For nitrogen-nitrogen and nitrogen-oxygen organic nitrogen compounds, such as azo, hydrazine, hydrazone, nitro, nitroso, urea, etc., appropriate pretreatment must be carried out in accordance with the standards before being measured using this standard.
