Scope: This standard specifies the method principles, reagents and materials, instruments and equipment, test procedures, result calculation and precision of the Ischka method and coulometric method for the total sulfur content of carbon materials. The Ischka method should be used in the arbitration analysis. This standard applies to the determination of the total sulfur content of carbon materials graphite electrodes, graphite chips, carbon blocks, graphite anodes, carbon electrodes, pastes, electric carbons, calcined anthracite, and calcined petroleum coke.
