Scope
This International Standard specifies requirements for a quality management system for an organization that: a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements; b) through the effective application of the system, including a process for continual improvement of the system As well as ensuring compliance with customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, with the aim of enhancing customer satisfaction. All requirements specified in this standard are generic and intended to be applicable to organizations of all types, sizes and offering different products. Where any requirement of this standard is inapplicable due to the characteristics of the organization and its products, its exclusion may be considered. Conformity to this standard cannot be claimed unless exclusions are limited to those requirements in clause 7 of this standard that do not affect the organization's ability or responsibility to provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
