This standard prescribes a method of test for deter-mining the presence of odor in a fabric, due to finishing. This may be present in a latent form and which could, under certain temperature and humidity conditions, develop into a very objectionable odor in the garment or in the area in which such a garment or fabric is stored. This odor could be described as similar to fish, wet dog, burnt chemical, bad catalyst, pyridine, bad chemical odor, excessive formaldehyde, or excessive aromatic odor.
