This Standard describes two alternative procedures (method A and method B) for preparing and determination of abrasion caused by studded tyres, tested on cylindrical specimens of bituminous mixtures. Note 1: Both methods (A and B) may be used where relevant for determination of abrasion by studded tyres. Note 2: Method A originates from the Prall-method, but it is improved by comprehensive research work to meet an adequate design. According to Swedish research work the method correlates with abrasion in the field. Method B originates from Finnish experience and correlates with abrasion in the field.
