This standard specifies general matters regarding the design, manufacture, and product evaluation of pantographs for railway vehicles for overhead contact lines (hereinafter referred to as "vantographs"). It also specifies tests conducted with pantographs without insulators. This standard does not apply to pressure tests performed on pantographs mounted on the roof of a vehicle.
