Scope

This Recommendation defines different units of logarithmic measurement of the power level currently used in telecommunications systems. It also gives the relationship between these units and includes examples of use. The following text is an amalgamation of information previously dispersed in various publications and cancels and replaces the content of ITU-T Rec. B.12, Annex A/G.100, Annex A/G.101, Annex B/Q. 551 and 3.8/G.101.
