Scope

This part of GB/T 230 specifies the principles, symbols and descriptions, test equipment, samples, test procedures, uncertainty of results and test reports of the Rockwell hardness and superficial Rockwell hardness tests of metallic materials. It is worth noting that the cemented carbide spherical indenter is a standard Rockwell hardness indenter. Steel ball indenters are allowed if specified in product standards or agreements.
